Feng Shui & Success

By Maggie Z. Mathews

Success and Feng Shui. In life that we are, what we value and how we wish to be rewarded is not only different for different groups of people and personalities but also varies greatly at different points in our lives and with different perspectives and responsibilities.

So is it with the definition of, and perspectives of what success means to us. Yet what are the lessons of Feng Shui when it comes to creating, accomplishing and retaining success.

Yet what are the lessons and advice of the ancient Chinese science and art of Feng Shui when it comes to measures of success?

1) It never hurts to be prudent – that is being concerned or even fearful. The creator put these warning feelings in your heart for good reason and measure. Indeed when it came to feeling of guilt Woody Allen advised that “Guilt is a wonderful thing. It prevents me from doing every day things I have not even thought of or imagined yet.”

Everyone has fears. The issues are that when these fears become paralyzing indeed and keep from acting and carrying out your dreams and ambitions. Is anything holding you back at this point in your life? Indeed strange as it may seem many are even afraid of success itself. Strange is it not?

2)Always acknowledge your own accomplishments. It’s not being vain. If you accomplished a task or completed a goal why should you not be happy with yourself and even tell those loved ones around you.

3)Avoid getting advice –or the wrong kind of advice from misinformed know it alls. It’s a rarely discussed or designated line. Some will tell you “just go ahead” that if you “talk to too many people you will only become confused”. (And get nowhere). Yet in many cases proper preparation and the worthwhile advice of others can save you much wasted time, energy, costs and even grief.

Where is this fine line of knowing whom to ask for advice? It comes into the source of information. There are some know it alls and gossips who know or comprehend little. Yet there are successful people who you should take the time to ask, listen to and heed advice.

4)Delegate. One of the most important lessons in life is to know when and how to delegate. Do you think Bill Gates or Steve Jobs know how to make the products that their firms prosper with? Hardly not. They have learned the power of delegation that is of using other people to scale up your productive powers. Four hands it seems do the work of 20.

Sure you may be the type that wants to do all the work yourself – as you have high standards, are highly efficient and productive and as well know the job is done and done well.

Still you cannot do it all – well not for long. If other people can help you in accomplishing your goals and dreams and do 85 % as well as you – wouldn’t that be more than a good tradeoff and bargain. Learn to delegate is the lesson and message of life in 2011.

Success is not only what you make it, but also what you envision as success at your point in life and with your current priorities. Your vision of success and the rewards of reaching that pinnacle in life will change greatly throughout your lifetime as well as family and work situations and perspectives. Good luck and good success.

Achieving Feng Shui

By Cassia Ann Jordan

Have you ever wondered what Feng Shui really is? If you are ready to find out, you will find the answer below. Feng Shui is a way to decorate your home. You may have heard about it but never really knew how to do it. It’s a popular concept of creating a certain feeling of joy and harmony. It doesn’t mean you have to create a Zen-type of home, but it’s more of you creating the best energy for a certain space.

If you want to Feng Shui your bedroom, what are the necessary steps in order to do so? Feng Shui is different then your average home decor, but if you are looking for a special vibe from the placement of your furniture and accessories, then Feng Shui sounds right for you.

Where to start

The first thing to do is to clear all clutter. This will help clear out the old energy and provide a strong clear energy. So in this case, the less the better. With everything in its place, and no clutter to be seen, you can achieve Feng Shui. However, it’s important to keep in mind this is not the only way to do so. You must also position your furniture a certain way and allow more light to come in the room. You should also have good quality air, which is essential for good Chi.

What’s next?

After you have cleared the clutter and brought more air and light into the room, you can now map out your bagua, or energy. There are certain positions a piece of furniture can take on in order to look great however that depends on what type of furniture you will use. For example, for the North side of the room, you should use the colors blue and black, for the element of water. There are certain elements and colors to be used when trying to achieve Feng Shui.

Third Step

Your third step is to determine whether or not you have the right decorations that can be used. You may need to add or subtract from your collection to create a calm and serene purpose in your room.

After you have the necessary items, you need to figure out where to put them. With all of the colors you have and the decorations, you need to determine how to place them in order to achieve such an environment as Feng Shui. It is important to focus on the entire home, or apartment, and also focus on the specific room. You can decorate your whole house so you can have the sense of joy and harmony.

Don’t forget the flooring

You don’t want to complete the look until your flooring looks as good as the walls. A solid black area rug is something to consider or a white area rug. You want the flooring to look and feel clean and not cluttered up. Don’t set plants or anything else on the floor because it will clutter up the overall look. A simple rug on the floor is decorative enough. In the end, the look should be clean and bright; giving you a positive vibe.

How to Use Feng Shui For Prosperity

By James Brickman

From time immemorial, people have searched for happiness, harmony, love and wealth.

Using feng shui for prosperity allows us to use subtle energies to achieve prosperity in everything. This knowledge can help find love, strengthen relationships, find a vocation, climb the corporate ladder, gain wealth, improve health, and more.

The teaching involves the use of symbols (charms, amulets) for success. One of the most popular symbols of feng shui for prosperity is the vessels. A vessel represents unity and harmony, and stores your desires and aspirations. This bowl can be filled with any items. The main thing is that these objects symbolize what you want. You can have multiple vessels as well.

Try to choose a bowl made of metal (silver, gold, copper), or ceramic vases. The vessel should be squat and rounded. Also turn your attention to its neck: it needs to be broad, but not wider than the middle of the vase. It’s easy to get into such a vessel, but it’s hard to get out of it.

When you find a suitable container, consider what to fill it with. The stuffing is the main thing in this talisman. Fill the bowl to the brim, so as not to have gaps in what you want.

Three principal objects to consider include soil, Chinese coins, and regular money. Ask a successful and wealthy person for a handful of soil (e.g., soil from a plant vase), and pack the soil in a red bag. Obtain some Chinese coins with square holes in the middle, string nine coins on a thread and pack them into another red bag. Now, use real money in the amount of 988. For example, take 9 dollars and 88 cents. If finances allow, take 988 dollars. String these on a string and pack them into yet another red bag.

Start filling the bowl. Put the three red sacks on the bottom. Add a lot of semi-precious stones: coral, malachite, topaz, agate, and amethyst. You can use the jewelry made of these stones, or use rough stones. Remember: The mascot cannot do without the main symbol of feng shui for prosperity – the gold. Put at least one gold item in the bowl. Fill the remaining space with objects colored in gold. For harmony, you can add dried flowers, cones, leaves, and seeds to your vase.

You can go even further. You can put paired figures of animals inside: elephants, horses, fish. You can also add a lotus flower to this idyll. You can put a ring on the bottom of a small bowl, and place it inside the main one. The ring means endless movement. For the embodiment of the sky, draw the sky and put the picture into the vessel.

For the bowl of wealth to help, it needs to be placed properly. Place it in plain sight in your bedroom. Consider placing it in the southeastern part of the room – this will symbolize the desire for harmony and light. Do not put the bowl where there may be strangers, such as in the living room.

Create a good mascot by the rules of feng shui for prosperity, and the material costs involved in it may come back to you a hundredfold.

What You Need to Know About the Feng Shui of Your Bathroom

By Candace Czarny, CFM, ASID, LEED AP, Feng Shui Expert

Your bathroom is a place that you will use everyday, no matter what. And while this room tends to be forgotten when it comes to Feng Shui, it’s often one of the more energetically challenged rooms of a home. As it already has water energy which can not be removed, this becomes a place where energy can drop or be deflected in the wrong ways. Ignoring this most important room can be the root of many Feng Shui problems. If you feel that you can’t get ahead financially, there are always emotional issues in the home and life or you physically feel drained it’s take to take a good look at your bathrooms. Here’s what you need to know about using Feng Shui in your bathroom.

No Good Place for a Bathroom

Unless you’ve built your home with Feng Shui ideas in mind, it’s likely that your bathroom is in a bad place, energetically speaking. If it’s adjacent to or above your kitchen, it’s going to take away the fire energy of that room with the water energy and create a lot of steam in your life.

If the bathroom is adjacent to a bedroom, that drains life force energy from that area. And if the bathroom is above the front door, that can drain energy away. A bathroom in the center of a home? That’s even worse as this causes the health area to be impacted every day by all that occurs in a bathroom.

Cleanliness Adds Good Energy

But there are always Feng Shui fixes you can use to help your bathroom energy be more stable and attractive. First of all, you always want to keep your bathroom clean. Any dirt or clutter is going to further hinder the flow of energy in the space and affect the other spaces the bathroom might touch. Make sure to give the bathroom a good cleaning once a week, but more often if you have children or make a mess. Cleaning every surface will not only promote health, but it will also ensure that you are keeping the energy moving.

Add Warmth to the Space

Since the bathroom tends to be a cold place, you need to add warmth to it and thus add warmth to the energy of the space. Begin by adding warm colors to the room so as to counteract the water energy. You will want to avoid an all white bathroom, for example, and focus more on pastel colors that promote a soothing energy, while still adding brightness. Make sure the bathroom is always well lit when you are using it.

It can also help to keep the door closed in order to keep the water energy of the bathroom from upsetting the rest of the home. While you might not be able to do much with the placement of this room, the bathroom can become a positive energy with these simple adjustments.

Above all make sure that you keep the toilet seat down when not in use and keep the bathroom door closed at ALL times!

Are you tired of being unlucky? Exhausted of getting into bad relationships? Still waiting for the right opportunity to go your way? Do you want changes in your life? Well then you might just get what you are looking for. So read on!

In order for one to have a healthier and happier life, some believe in the art and science of Feng Shui; wherein one must rearrange furniture which symbolically would mean something either good or bad in your life. The mastery of Feng Shui basically works on the objective of the person. It does not matter what god you worship or what you believe in. Feng Shui focuses on one’s intention and how that person wants changes in his or her life.

It is said that, for one to attain Chi, one must change the way you treat your home. A home is not simply a mere structure that you go home to from work and sleep at. It is more than just a place where you want to waste time entertaining people through social gatherings. It should serve as your own personal temple where you feel secured and safe. A home is where you should feel relaxed and at peace. It should function as a place for interaction wherein one can build a better relationship with another. Thus, a home should be one’s comfort zone whereas symbolically you place personal things or sentimental home d

The principals of Feng Shui can be used to create a harmonic environment within your home, increase wealth and prosperity and increase the happiness that occurs within the four walls of your home. How do you begin the feng shui process? What rooms do you start with? Use these tips to increase the positive energy flow through the use of feng shui in your home.

Increase the positive flow in the bedroom by placing the bed with the headboard facing against the door. It is important to have the door in view at all times. There should be no electronics in the bedroom, as these can decrease the flow the positive energy levels. Electronics should be avoided in most main parts of the home, but are most important to avoid placing in the bedroom. The energy that comes from having electronics is negative and can disrupt the flow of the positive energy.

The bed should be placed in an area where it can be accessed from either side. Placing the bed against a wall or other blockage could cause an energy stoppage. Bedside tables should be placed on each side of the bed to avoid clutter that comes with a bedroom. Once this clutter is reduced within the home, the energy will be able to flow positive and naturally. Although the headboard should be able to view the door, it is important to place the bed in an area that is not in a direct line with the door. The bed is the most important place within the home where the individual is able to regain the energy lost throughout the day.

Natural light placed within certain areas in the home create a positive energy flow. We are the energy that presides within our home and natural light. Light is the second most important way that positive energy is created within the home. Using natural light, the home can be basked in the creation of positive energy. Candles without toxins are one of the chief ways that positive energy can be created within the home, especially in the bedroom. Clean burning candles are available at a variety of retail shops and specialty and health food stores.

Creating a positive energy flow in the home with the natural creation of flowing, green plants is important. Green plants have the ability to improve the air in which we breathe into our body. The air that we breathe into the body is a direct interaction with our environment. This way, it can improve our natural health and wellness within the home environment.

There are five elements of feng shui that should be present within the home. These elements are; wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Each of these elements can be used in combination with each other, in different parts of the home to create a positive energy flow.

Using air flow in combination with natural light provides a positive environment, especially in the bedroom. Allowing open windows in the home allows for positive energy to flow into the home. The same goes for negative energy, negative energy is able to flow out of open windows.

What is a Feng Shui Bagua is Used For?

By Lynn Lee

A Feng Shui Bagua is one of the essential tools for practitioners to determine the Feng Shui of a place. The Bagua is divided into 8 directions, similar to that of a compass. After the division is made, you can see that there are 9 areas on the Bagua map, in which each area represents a different aspect of life.

Knowing the fact that each of the 9 areas represents an aspect of your life, you can use the Bagua map to determine what went wrong in the Feng Shui of your home. As such, you can also make the necessary amendments to enhance the quality of your life.

Below is a list of the 9 areas of the Bagua map and how each area affects an aspect of your life.

Wealth and Prosperity

The area of hsun gua on the Bagua map represents wealth and prosperity. Pay special attention to your kitchen sink as it symbolizes the flow of your wealth. If you encounter any financial problems recently, you should do a clean up of your kitchen sink as a dirty kitchen sink might block the flow of your wealth. Call for a plumping service, as clogged water pipes will affect your wealth flow as well.

Fame and Reputation

Fame and reputation occupies the Li gua of the Bagua map. If you find that someone is gossiping about you or passing bad remarks about you, it is time for you to take some action.

You will need more “fire” energy to improve your relationship with others. One simple thing that you can do is to wear some accessories that are yellow in color. Yellow color emits cheerfulness and friendliness, which will help to improve your relationship with others.

Relationships

Relationships lie on the kun gua of the Bagua map. If you encounter any relationship problems, it is time for you to make some adjustment to your bedroom, especially your bed. Adding a bamboo wind chime to improve the flow of positive energy (Qi) should be good enough.

Families

The jen gua of the Bagua map represent families. To maintain harmony in the family, the living and dining room should be well decorated. It should be spacious enough for family gatherings. There should also be products such as crystals to enable a smooth flow of Qi in these gathering areas.

Health and Balance

The center of the bagua map represents health and balance. To maintain good health, there should be a smooth flow of Qi throughout your house. The flow of Ying and Yang energy should be well balanced to ensure good health.

Creativity or Children

Creativity or children lies on the Dui gua of the Bagua map. Brightening up your workspace with more Yang energy sources will inspire you with new ideas. If you want to have a child, you must first improve the flow of Qi in your bedroom. Having better lightings and putting a few crystal balls beside your bed should do the trick.

Self-understanding

Self-understanding is represented by the Ken gua. An object that affects this area of your life will be the window. The window affects your self-perception. Therefore, it is vital that you clean your window regularly because a dirty window might mean that you may not be able to see things clearly.

Career

The kan gua symbolizes your career. The front door and pathway of your house will affect your career. Most of the time, people will hang auspicious Feng Shui products on the door to ward off the negative energies (Sha Qi).

Helpful Friends

Helpful friends will lie on the area of chien gua. To become acquainted with more helpful friends, you should try to get rid of any Sha Qi that is circulating around you. This Sha Qi prevents you know knowing new people. You can wear a crystal accessory such as a crystal bracelet to get rid of the Sha Qi around you.

By understanding what a Feng Shui Bagua is used for, you can take action to prevent bad things from happening If encounter any problem in your life, you can use the Bagua map to figure what area of your person or your house you need to change to improve the situation.

Feng Shui for the Home

By Larry Lim

The art of Geomancy or more commonly known as Feng Shui in the Chinese community is often debated for its facts. After years of studies, Feng Shui has been proven to have its foundation built on natural sciences and not merely based on Chinese superstitions. Feng Shui, just like the name suggests, means wind and water when translated into English. The art has been practiced since 4,500 years ago with the aim to create a harmonial balance between a home’s occupants and its surroundings.

Today, even the Western world have begun to take notice of this ancient practice, incorporating interior design with the art of Feng Shui. In the simplest form, it is divided into 5 key elements – fire, earth, metal, water and wood. All these basic elements are used to help enhance the general well-being and luck of the occupants. This is the reason why a Feng Shui master is invited to survey the house before the family moves in. The Feng Shui master attempts to bring together the natural order of Heaven, Earth and Man, blending these 3 orders with the owner’s Bazi (the birthday) to help create a perfect interior orientation for the house.

When someone buys a new property in Singapore, there are some very basic Feng Shui rules to observe, specifically rules that affect the flow of Chi into the house. For example, Singaporeans would refrain from buying a property located on cul-de-sacs or the ‘dead end’ of a street, or those facing a ‘T’ junction. The properties located at these areas are believed to be bad for Chi flows, either too much or not enough flowing into the house.

The landscape is another basic criteria in determining a Feng Shui of a house. Try imagining a house with a tree planted at its entrance. From common sense, it is bad landscaping because it blocks the walkway. From the Feng Shui point of view, it is an unfavourable because it blocks the Chi from entering the house. Having a winding walkway rather than a straight walkway heading to the entrance of the house is also favourable because it is believed that the Chi is “gentler” when it enters the house.

Another good practice when buying a house is to talk to the owner or the realtor to learn the purpose of the sale because it may affect your fortune in the future. You would prefer to buy a house from someone selling to move to a bigger home, than from an owner who is forced to sell because of bankruptcy or foreclosure.

Most of the time, a renovation is required when the family moves into a new house. Colors and shapes play an important role in determining the Feng Shui of the house. Different colors and shapes will evoke different feelings or emotions in different people. By replacing protruding shapes with sharp ends to something circular, existing relationship problems may go away.

Another useful tip to promote a good and prosperous living for the entire family, is the “pa-gua” positions. Use the “pa-gua” to tackle shortages or imperfect area in your home by literally dividing the layuout into 9 sections.

Finding a house with the perfect Feng Shui is certainly no easy task. However with such a long history and hordes of staunch believers, it is probably wise to spend a little more effort to incorporate Feng Shui into the home for the well-being for its occupants.

Feng Shui For Your Computer

By Sandra Prior

Although feng shui principles are usually applied to the real world, your virtual environment could also benefit from less clutter. Follow these steps to desktop nirvana.

Go for a minimalist look. Many programs install start-up icons on your desktop, making it difficult to find what you really want. Reduce the clutter by removing everything from your desktop, except the stuff you need. Keep the icons for ‘My Computer’ or your hard drive, the Recycle Bin, the CD drive and your browser and bin everything else. You don’t need everything in plain view.

While you’re making friends with the Recycle Bin, get rid of everything else you don’t need – shareware you’ve once used, wallpaper, sound files, email. Be ruthless – as long as you don’t want it and it’s not in the Windows folder, delete it. Anything with a .tmp extension in the filename can be safely removed too.

There’s only so much clutter you can take away manually. Programs leave bits and pieces of themselves in hard-to-find places, so get a friend to help you. Once you have removed everything, run a registry scan and a complete virus scan.

Organize your start menu if you’re a Windows user. New programs invariably place short cuts for themselves in the main part of the menu – after a while you can end up with a huge, unwieldy list that’s difficult to navigate. Combat the chaos by indexing programs as you go along. Remove redundant associations. If you’re not sure, leave them.

By now your computer should be more immaculate than when you first took delivery but there are still a couple of housekeeping tasks you need to perform to get it running harmoniously. Run a registry fix about once a week and set your antivirus to do a full system scan at least once a week too. If you’re running Windows XP then enable Windows Defender to do a full scan once a day, at a time when you are not using your computer. Leave your computer switched on and connected to the Internet permanently if you have a broadband Internet connection. Set your programs to automatically download and install updates.

Make yourself a cup of tea – preferably a calming herbal brew like chamomile. While it’s steeping, run a full virus scan. As you sip your tea, try to visualize a calm scenario – a placid lake in Autumn, for example. By the time you’ve finished your tea, your chi (energy) will be fully refreshed and your computer will be ready for the last stages of its feng shui makeover.

Add the final touches to your desktop. If you’ve had the same desktop theme since you bought your computer, change it now and add a new suite of sounds. Choose something you can live with – this is important. The number of computers physically damaged by users who had installed Hal from 2001 desktops themes is inestimable.

Reboot your machine. You’re making a new beginning and this is an important gesture that separates your old, cluttered and inefficient way of working from your new energy-balanced relationship with your computer. It also gets rid of the junk your machine couldn’t delete while it was running.

The Concept Of Feng Shui

By Mr.Andrew Caxton

The Feng Shui concept is one of positive energy. Believers feel it can help them become rich and successful. Feng Shui has the ability to b9ring harmony between all living things in the environment.

When Spring arrives, it’s a prefect time to think about doing some face work to your home in order to generate a flow of positive energy through it. When you successfully change the surrounding energy, you will also change your life.

Origin of Feng Shui

Feng Shui originated in China, and its beliefs are based upon the idea that both animate and inanimate objects generate energy. The belief is this is caused by placement with the intent to achieve some kind of balance as well as harmony between people, places, and things and the environment.

The five earth elements that comprise Feng Shui and play an integral part in the creation of the flawless environment.

What Is Feng Shui?

When the majority of people think of Feng Shui, they think of moving their furniture or of using Feng Shui interior decorating style, but it definitely extends beyond either of those. The Feng Shui concept is one of balance in addition to harmony, which is a positive energy force. Followers believe it will allow each person to minimize the negative as well as any dangers in your life in order to increase your chances of achieving good health and being successful.

Another concept of Feng Shui is its ability to govern how lucky you are in love, happiness within the family, and romance. Its use has been incorporated into children’s education for centuries, and by following the Feng Shui tips, your study habits and concentration will improve.

The concept also says that if you work extremely hard and are in possession of the proper Feng Shui, you may actually enjoy an opportunity of wealth. You cannot lie back until your chance arrives; only hard work will help you obtain the success you ought to have. Many millionaires exist because of Feng Shui, but it is not a free ride to success. They got there because they worked hard to achieve their goals, using Feng Shui as a guide.

Many people who begin learning about Feng Shui have no idea of its depth of knowledge, but they confess later that it causes positive changes in your life by generating positive energy that is known as CHI.

If you make use of any of the Feng Shui cures or enhancements, you must be able to identify the items that are a part of the environment of the individual whether it’s a home or a commercial building. After all, the Feng Shui concept is to improve all aspects as well as areas within both our daily lives as well as environment to form a more balanced world.
