Recently I’ve been talking to various people about Chi Gardening and a discussion with two blokes come to mind. Both were successful, you know the big house, boat and maybe millionaire tag and both were interested in nature and their need to connect to it.
To them connecting to nature removed them from the stresses of everyday life. One of the blokes made his money buying and doing up houses and was very concerned with good presentation. He would establish free flowing, neat and healthy gardens and modeled his homes to reflect similar characteristics and was aware of good balance throughout. The product had to have that feel good image about it.
He was inadvertently practicing Feng Shui and it did him well. Both men suggested to me there was something far more meaningful in their need to reaffirm connection to nature. One suggested it may go back to when we had no alternative but to live off the land. Way back in time to when there were no cities and towns and we were basically nomadic. Living off the land was a life or death thing, food, shelter and protection from predators forming the basic needs for survival. Maybe Darwinian traits designed to expose those weaker or unable to cope with the environmental stresses of the day. The land was their saviour and they had respect for it, and the land deeply ingrained into their persona.
Subsequently urbanisation over the centuries has displaced many and those living in cities having their genetic imprints modified to living by organisation of materials and others. Maybe the world is now poorer for encouraging that trait. We’ve become consumers of what’s produced from the land and not having a need to maintain connection to it and with nature. That assumption may explain why some social groupings have no interest in gardens and prefer the confines of towns and cities.
Yet genetically modified imprints are still strong enough within many of us to enjoy nature and natural surroundings and we do so in the knowledge that our survival isn’t dependent on it as before. Could it be males seek reconnection to nature more so than females because the instinctive bond may have been stronger in males? But this point had better be left for discussion elsewhere.
If the male bonding thing is the case, Harmonious Chi Gardening can be a man’s thing as much as a woman’s thing. The bloke visiting the garden for re-connection to nature and using gardening as a new found skill to harmonise with their surroundings. Maybe growing herbs, fruit or vegetables or providing a lawn area for the kids, maybe a place for a seat and sitting down with a cool drink. Creating places of visual appeal, functional use and enjoyment could be good therapy for true blokes.
Hopefully if Harmonious Chi Gardening offers a bloke a role in the garden it will do so because they want to connect with nature and reaffirm some instinctive urge to reach out and touch the earth. They are spiritually awakened by the association.

Most of the people, if not all, want to have wealth of wealth. We all need to be free from worries of not being able to buy the things we need or pay our bills. Some individuals want to have the freedom to buy anything they want without being worried about not having enough bucks for important things. Because we have many want and desires, we work very hard and look for more ways to increase our wealth.
There are numerous paths to increase wealth. One technique of attracting wealth is by following some Feng Shui beliefs. Feng Shui, or the art of object placement, uses various guidelines in designing or preparing a home or an office. They assert that following these methods will help you in attracting wealth. Here are some tips you can follow to draw in wealth using Feng Shui.
Clean Your Mess
The very first thing you have to do is to free your mind and your place with litter. This is also a practical thing to do when you wish to be able to think unreservedly without diversions. Chinese customs say that you get more Problems when you own a large amount of things. These possessions hinder you from attracting wealth. You have to have more space so that wealth can enter. You can do this by throwing out broken and superseded objects. Dispose of things that are of little use to you anymore.
Enrich Your Wealth Corner
According to Chinese teaching, the southeast corner of your office or home is your wealth corner. To draw in wealth, follow some Feng Shui beliefs when planning this area.
A hint of green draws wealth as the color green designates perseverance and patience. In other cultures, green also designate money. Placing some plants in this area is a smart idea. You can put bamboo or jade plants, which is also called as money plants. Plants represent your fiscal standing. Ensure that you look after your plants very well. Healthy plants are seen as abounding wealth. Also, avoid placing plants with pointed leaves and thorns. They’re seen as bad luck.
Light also performs a part in this area. Put light in your wealth corner. Too much light might not be good. Having a soft glow on your southeast corner is ideal.
Welcome Wealth
Making the entrance of your office or home more welcoming is also 1 technique of attracting wealth. Placing Bamboo plants on your entry way are regarded as a good luck in Chinese teachings. Bamboo plants in the entry way attract good things to come inside.
You may put some coins beneath your welcome mat. This designates that you welcome wealth inside your home or office.
Following Feng Shui helps you in enticing wealth. It does not bring you wealth instantly. To be solely dependent on these strategies is not right. Wealth does not come to a man who does not do anything. Be patient and word hard on all the things you do. Feng Shui helps you to reach what you need but you also need to help yourself.

Feng Shui and Your Windows
They say the eyes are the windows to the soul and in Feng Shui, it’s thought that the windows are the opening where energy flows into the home. In order to improve the flow of energy in your home, make sure that you are using your windows to allow energy to flow freely in the spaces where you live, work, and play. Here are some Feng Shui tips you can use to start changing the energy of your home today.
Privacy Matters
While being open to outside energy is important, it’s equally important to keep others’ sha energy from flowing into your home. You will want to make sure you have coverings on your windows which will help to block out outside energy. Sheer drapes will allow you to let light in while also blocking out images or energies that are not favorable. Blinds can also work, but you do not want to completely block out the light as that can attract hard energy. There are cures for transmuting sha energy so that you can leave your window blinds open. Keep ready to find out how.
Prevent Energy Arrows
Sometimes, your home might be in the line of energy fire, so to speak. If you have corners or sharp items pointing at your windows, this can cause hard energy to flow into your home. In order to soften this energy, you will want to add plants or other items in the windows. These Feng Shui helpers will deflect and transform the energy into something more positive. Closing the drapes will also help as will hanging crystal balls in the windows to transmute hard energy (sha) into positive energy (chi) and prevent it from causing harm.
Make Your Space Larger
Using mirrors will help to make your space appear larger, always a good thing in Feng Shui. You can use mirrors to reflect the light from the windows to other areas of the home, especially when you can not change the current position of the windows or the skylights. This way, you can extend the energy of the light and the outside world into even the darkest corners of the rooms. Mirrors will also duplicate the positive chi energy that may be outside your home like a fountain, flowers or water and bring this chi energy into your home.
Open Up the Windows
Simply taking a few minutes each day to open the windows will allow fresh new energy to enter your home and to release stale old energy from the space. In doing this, you will be able to encourage energy already in your home to circulate more, allowing you to feel a surge of energy, right when you need it.
Also, remember to keep your windows clean to allow chi into your home.
No matter how good your home feels now, using Feng Shui will allow you to enhance the good energy. By simply looking to your windows for help, you can begin to change your life.

The name of the Chinese feng shui compass Lo Pan consists of two words – Lo (“all”) and Pan (“bowl”).
The Lo Pan compass reflects all of the earth’s circles and lines, and is used to obtain information about the landscape surrounding someone’s home and office, as well as to draw up detailed geomantic tables.
Lo Pan is made up of circles, the number of which can reach 36 in some cases. Each circle is used to study a particular aspect of feng shui. There are 3 types of Lo Pans: the San He School, San Yuan School and Zong He School (combined compass).
Any feng shui compass has a Heaven Pond circle with a sensitive hand in its center. The Heaven Pond is surrounded by the Early Heaven Bagua circle with protective properties. The rest are the circles with ancient feng shui formulas. All this is placed in a red square. The larger the compass, the more accurate the data is. The accuracy is very important if you use formulas where the difference of 1-2 degrees could change the whole feng shui.
Following are the requirements for a quality compass: The disk with formulas and the Heaven Pond should rotate smoothly. The crossing of the red threads must be directly above the needle. If you align the last disk to 0 degrees from one side of the thread, the opposite side of the thread should point to 180 degrees. If all of these requirements are met, then it’s a high-quality Lo Pan.
In feng shui, there are two main directions – the Form School and Compass School.
The Form School takes into account the landscape that surrounds a home, as a manifestation of four animals. A large black turtle (a mountain) is behind the building. A green dragon (mountains or tall trees) is on the left (if you stand with your back to the door). A white tiger (low trees) is on the right. A red phoenix (a stream or river) is in front of the house. The Form School for interior is based on comfort and security. For example, this school teaches us not to sit with our backs against a door, because we don’t see who is outside, which may pose a potential threat.
The Compass School is divided into two schools: the San He School (3 harmonies), and San Yuan School (3 periods). The San He School (3 harmonies – heaven, human and earth) believes that feng shui is always either good or bad. The San Yuan School (3 periods) takes into account the time and believes that feng shui of a home varies from period to period. The circles on the Lo Pan compasses of these two schools differ from each other, but both have a circle of “24 mountains”. Any feng shui compass divides each of the 8 directions (4 main and 4 intermediate) into three sectors, which make a total of 24 directions.
The Feng Shui practice often requires the use both compasses, so there is a combined Lo Pan that combines the formulas of both schools. Since it is impossible to accommodate all of the formulas on the same disk, they take only the most frequently used formulas.

Feng shui for the classroom can help students achieve more and help teachers feel more comfortable.
Students and teachers spend numerous hours in classrooms, so it’s essential to improve them – the positive energy needs to be promoted, while the negative energy needs to be curtailed in these rooms.
The most significant factors for classrooms are light, air, color, and sound. Let’s review how each one of them may affect the students and teachers, and what can be done about it.
Light: Today, fluorescent lighting is everywhere, including classrooms. Fluorescent light is advantageous for only one reason – its economic factor.
The light output of a fluorescent bulb is several times greater than that of an incandescent bulb (Edison light bulb) of similar power. The service life of fluorescent bulbs can be 20 times the life of incandescent ones. However, fluorescent lights have two major disadvantages: general health and mental abilities.
Those subjected to spend numerous hours in rooms lit by fluorescent light, can develop or experience dermatitis, seizure disorders, bipolar swings, weakness, numbness, fatigue, headaches, and a decreased learning ability.
Feng shui for the classroom suggests using regular incandescent bulbs wherever possible, to increase the learning and concentration abilities in children, as well as help their general state.
Air: This is another factor of great importance for the overall wellbeing of students and teachers. Air is something that we cannot live without, and lack of air will cause us to have various issues.
“Feng shui” translates as “wind water” – the wind (air) and water in feng shui are treated with special piety. Studies prove that students, who study in rooms with frequently open windows, have increased learning capacity compared to those who study in classrooms with no windows or windows that are never open. Interestingly, artificial ventilation systems do not affect learning abilities either way.
There’s not much that a teacher can do about having or not having windows in their classroom; however, if the room has windows but they are never open, it would be great to start opening them for a few minutes during breaks. This simple tip offered by feng shui for the classroom can help your students achieve more in their studies henceforth.
Colors: Colors impact the brain. Some colors are soothing and relaxing (blue through violet) while others are energizing and freshening (red, orange, yellow). Some colors are neutral – green. Colors can either clash or be in harmony with one another. Colors can alter the mood of people, as well as their ability to perceive information, learn, and memorize. Changing the wall color typically isn’t something that a teacher can do or ask to be done. However, if there’s refurbishing scheduled for your classroom, you may want to learn more about colors and their effect, and choose a new beneficial color scheme for your classroom.
Sound: Sound can help to create a relaxing atmosphere indoors, similar to how we feel in nature or how we feel listening to the sound of rain. Feng shui for the classroom suggests placing an indoor water fountain to add natural and relaxing sounds to the classroom. You can also consider using chimes and bells.

When people think about solving their problems using Feng Shui most of the time they think about how the inside of the home is arranged, when is fact what is happening outside the home could be the culprit.
The energy from your neighbors’ homes, the cars on the street and the lay of the land could be taking your money, relationships and health.
Your home is where you come to relax and to enjoy yourself. When your home is not properly balanced, you may experience troubles with money, health, and love. In the practice of Feng Shui, you can begin to adjust the energy of your home, helping to make these parts of your life more prosperous and more effective. Here are some basic Feng Shui tips you need to employ.
The Outside Matters Too
Many people don’t think of the outside of the home as being a place that needs to be changed when it comes to Feng Shui. Too often, books and websites focus solely on the interior of the home. But the exterior of the home is the first area where energy can either enter or be blocked, thus this part of the home needs special attention. By spending time on developing the outside of the home, you can begin to see changes on the inside as well.
It all begins by creating space for the energy to enter your home. Your front door should open easily and it should be easily viewed from the street. Whenever you can, make sure to keep this door open to promote the flow of energy in your house.
Your front entrance is where the energy enters your home. If your neighbors are always arguing or you have a lot of “sha” energy(hard energy) from cars because you live on a busy street this is the energy that is coming into your home. The goal is to change or transmute this energy before it enters your home.
Protecting Your Home and Family
Sometimes, there is little you can do about the surroundings of your home – especially a busy and noisy street or loud neighbors. In order to help energetically protect your home from these disruptions, you might want to add some statuary to your yard. Feng Shui practitioners like to use Buddhas for their calming influence, but angels or dragons can work just as well. Find symbols of protection to place around your yard and your energy will be defended.
Elements to Use
Feng Shui also believes that balancing the elements of your home is important to energy restoration. Try to find ways to include water, fire, earth, metal, and wood in your landscaping. This way, you will be able to balance the energies outside and then bring these balanced energies inside your body as well.
Your home is the place where you should feel relaxed and at ease with your life. The energy should not promote struggles that are not there. With Feng Shui, you can make sure your energy flows.

Feng shui relationship secrets and advice can help you create and maintain a solid relationship. Everyone wants to find their soul mate and keep them. Those who have a partner in life may want to make their intimate life brighter and strengthen their bond. Here are some feng shui relationship secrets for those who want to attract, retain and strengthen their love.
Let’s start with the basics – making a home attractive for relationships. This can be achieved with the Bagua octagon – a tool for improving energy in any premises. It helps to relate the environmental elements with the aspects of life. According to the octagon, the southwest direction is responsible for relationships. Its color is brown. Its symbol is earth. This sector is connected with your partner, whether current or potential.
The first is the front door. The vital energy Qi penetrates through the door into the home, so the door should attract it. The Qi accumulates near the door, and is let inside by the incoming or outgoing people.
There are three optimal directions of the front door. Southeast: helps to preserve peace and prosperity in the family. If your door faces this way, you don’t need to add anything. Southwest: helps to build harmonious and stable families. If your door faces this way, you can add colors / symbols of wood next to the door, such as an image of bamboo or plum blossom. West: helps to increase romance and pleasure. If your door faces this way, you can add earth elements next to the door, such as crystals or objects of stone.
Even if your door faces another direction, it’s not a problem. Decorate it using the color brown or place plants there.
Next is the feng shui relationship advice for the bedroom. Ideally, the bedroom should be located in the southwestern corner of the house, which is responsible for love, loyalty, and caring for family members. If the bedroom is located in another place, do not worry. Feng shui has a list of tools that will help make it more harmonious. First of all, the bedroom should be kept clean everywhere. If you have any devices or exercise equipment in the bedroom, if possible, divide the room into sections, blocking the bed from these.
The bed should not lean sideways into the wall. It is believed that a partner who sleeps near the wall will have less say. When there’s space on both sides, both partners will feel equal.
The bed should not be too broad, as this does not encourage romance. The bed should be small enough to provide intimacy in the relationship. The mattress should not be double; any longitudinal stripes on or above the bed will symbolize the rift in the relationship. Avoid water mattresses and any objects that embody the element of water, as water can carry happiness away. Do not place your bed near a wall adjacent to the bathroom, as your happiness may go down the drain.
Now let’s review the feng shui relationship tips for objects to place in the bedroom or the room located in the southwest direction, in order to activate it. You can enhance it with an earth element (crystals, rose quartz or amethyst) and fire element (candles and red objects, such as a red lamp). Also place love reinforcing symbols in the bedroom, such as double objects: a statue of a man and woman, a pair of ducks, or a dragon with a phoenix.

Feng Shui offers a myriad of cures when it comes to the evils found at home or in our travels throughout the globe. The cures can be within our spaces or they can be without – that is external in nature and origin. Regardless everyone likes a cure to their ills, their problems and concerns. Everyone likes to be positively reinforced and receive positive reinforcement – whether from friends, family or co-workers on the job.
In the world and travels of Feng Shui there are two broad types of solutions. The first is called Rushi or Rooshi and deals broadly of places, events and things in our direct world and contacts. The other is those problems that are of the physical domains. For example installing a windows in a wall casing in a windowless wall , would be on a physical level and would fall into the Feng Shui category of “Out of this World” or “Chushi” often referred to as Choosi.
Throughout the millennia and centuries many types of Feng Shui observed “cures” were developed, assembled and grew into a large respected collection of veritable cures. The powers and persuasions of these cures have come to be greatly respected and appreciated over time. Their powers and roles in healing and dealing with problems – be it of family, friends of basically most people ,places and things are becoming ever more appreciated..
Chushi cures – whether they are in the form and forms of mirrors, crystals, flutes, fish tanks and others are among this vast proven collection of Feng Shui – in the Chushi areas and domains. These can and are well being regarded as “psychological cures” because the subtle adjustments that Chushi Feng Shui cures offer the most intrinsic as well as subtle and sublime adjustments. While apparently, on the surface it may appear to have little initial or lasting effects on your environment, these will greatly spread, distribute and even shower their effects on our very perceptions.
It occurs, more than commonplace, and more than often that a full rushi, that solutions may not be practical or even economical or thrifty. A Chushi solution will be utilized instead. Your problems and concerns may be facilitated , dealt with and eventfully overcome through a combination or combinations of both rushi (into this world) and chushi (out of this very world) solutions. If one tack or approach does not work – then try the other. However it’s often not one viewpoint or approach but rather a combination of the two that brings the matter and matters to a reasonable as well as fair fitting end and conclusion satisfactory to the initial person and indeed to all parties involved in the problem, problems or debacle.
If there is one ongoing point and viewpoint – or viewpoint to adhere to, emphasize and appreciate it is to remember that to maximize the power and powers of a cushi or cushi cures. Pay great and the greatest attention to any spaces and the spaces themselves where you use and utilize them the most. For example it can be said and noted that clutter around wind chimes or a reflective mirror or mirror like surface will not allow the power and great powers of Feng Shui – be they Chushi or Rushi to express themselves and exert themselves to their greatest positive potentials and helpful effects to you, your family, friends and co-workers.
Feng Shui and light. In its simplest form light and illumination represent energy. The power of light. The power of energy. Overall natural lighting is the simplest Feng Shui. Natural lighting is best. Anything else is not natural. It is synthetic and not of real and substantial origins or power. Light represents good. Light represents power, strength, honor, integrity, enlightenment and education.
A room, home or person without full and natural light lives in darkness. It is as if that person or their family live in moral darkness without the benefits of the power of qi and Feng Shui.
Thus in terms of Feng Shui and the power and benefits of Feng Shui natural lighting is always best. Artificial lighting is an add on – an accessory. Artificial lighting can help to adjust the qi in dark and very difficult spots in your home, office or residence. Take great care when employing artificial light that this type of lighting, when employed, creates the same balancing as well as balanced stabilizing effect as natural light from the great sun of our heavens and universe – our “sun”, Work greatly to have the same and similar effect of natural light in your adjustments of artificial, man made light, with the basic natural light of your environments and environs.
How can this are accomplished. First things first. Walls should be brightly colored – paint should be light and neutral colors. The same with wallpaper coloration choices. You would be amazed at how much light a dark color wall can absorb compared to lighter and whiter colors. Even the color of growth and renewal, green, was made by the creator to absorb as much of the growth enhancing light as possible. Use lighter coloration choices. Next I f possible, then the surface of the painted or wallpaper should be flat, to best reflect the light energy – not of mottled or dimpled textures.
The walls themselves should be clean – free of dirt, grease and grime. A simple washing of walls can do great wonders in increasing and improving the natural lighting levels and energies to specific areas.
It can be said that “harsh” overhead lighting can be more than oppressive. Think of the lamps and lighting in prison movies and even big box stores or even abusive employment agencies. What do they all have in common – harsh overhead single focused light and lamp fixtures. On the other hand table mounted can and do work to create soft pools of light. Rooms lit by table mounted lights, carefully placed, seem to have soft pools of light. These rooms jump of qi. A feeling and balance and overall comfort and relaxation results. On the other extreme if you are saddled with a dark corner or sunken living room or a room planned to be sunken and solitary in nature then a carefully as well as strategically placed upward facing floor lamp or lamps can more than help stimulate qi or those dark and distant areas. In dealing with a “yan” area then candles can be added to add and enhance the flows and retention of vital yang energies and qualities.
Lastly in garden areas lighting can be use in these garden areas to balance shape, even out the surface and surfaces of the land and of course bring life and breadth to any and all dead spots and areas. Vital qi forces will just rush in.
It can be said that a man without education lives in darkness. A room , residence , abode or business office without full or balanced light and lighting lives similarly in darkness – in a position of lack of power , honor , integrity , luck and prosperity. Take the time to balance and enhance light, the type, balance and level of light to your living and working areas. Feng Shui !
